muli bwanje...

if you ever get to cape mcclear in malawi, don't stay on the mainland. track down Emmanuel Black Mzuza (Emmanuel's) and become a special guest on the tiny beach of his little island paradise.

far from the madding begging crowds, but only a fifteen minute boat ride away, you will find peace, beauty, and cold beers. chambo (a local fish) and rice around the campfire is the dinner du jour, every jour (except when no one catches fish that jour) and the prices are just unbelievably low. french toast for breakfast rounds out the menu and the hospitality is better than you'll get at home...

brrrrrrr...

came across an awesome portfolio / photo gallery featuring some very challenging cold windy places, captured in silver and black tones and dripping with mood and drama.

ragnar axelsson (rax) is the eye behind the lens and i reckon he would have made a fantastic director of photography for ingmar bergman - just imagine these images in motion. i prefer more sunshine filled places myself, so rather him than me! but definitely worth a squizz...
