directed by japanese master hayao miyazaki, tonari no totoro (my neighbour totoro) instantly became one of my favorite movies. the characters, attitudes and sentiments which flow through it are truly rare in the world of children's entertainment crushed under the weight of formulaic hollywood crap.

follow the feisty mei and her sister as they adapt to their new surroundings and experience the nurturing and supportive power of nature under the respectful guidance of the bemused totoros.

this is a movie that will charm and rekindle the dreaming child still lurking inside you and, if you do have young kids, its definitely the kind of dvd you want to squeeze into their repertoire...and don't stop there, check out more of miyazaki's movies and the awesome output of studio ghibli -- i can promise you will be awestruck! miyazaki is the undisputed king of animation.
